31 Week Survey

How far along? 31 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 1.5 lbs. 30.5 lbs. total
How big is baby? Supposed to be around the size of a squash: about 3.3 lbs, and 16 inches long.
When I had my appt. on Monday my fundal height was measuring one week ahead. Doesn't surprise me, everyone keeps telling me I look huge.
Maternity clothes? Mostly. They are SO much more comfy.
Sleep: Haven't slept much this week. Even though I am exhausted I don't fall asleep until late.
Best moment this week: Getting a lot of things accomplished and having a plan for the nursery. The windows will be replaced in about 3 weeks.
Movement: All the time. I guess he is head down so most of what I am feeling is his feet moving around up by my ribs.
Food cravings: Juice, fresh fruit, especially grapes, ice cream.
Gender: Little man
Labor Signs: Haven't felt a single contraction. I get some random "period-like" cramps here and there but I just drink a lot of water and they go away pretty much immediately.
Belly Button in or out? flat
Stretchmarks? Just like a tiny one on my boob. None at all my stomach! I am using Organic Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream in the morning and this "Beautiful Belly Balm" at night that I got at our local health food store.
How are you feeling? Sore here and there, tired. Overall good though. I have been getting more emotional lately, but it doesn't help that I have been stressed out.
What I am looking forward to: I have a shower tomorrow morning with Chris's dad's side of the family!
What I miss: Not being able to sleep on my back and stomach.
Weekly Wisdom: Just go to bed earlier.....
Milestones: Well I had my first big meltdown two nights ago regarding going back to work, daycare, and how we cannot really afford it, etc. I hate it. And pretty much cannot think about things just yet. Hopefully something works out.
Also I guess I am making colostrum now, but nothing leaking yet! There are moments throughout the day where I am like WOW when did I wake up with these.....!?

31 Weeks!! I feel like I look "tired."

All up front....

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

And just for fun, a cute picture of the doggies. They wanted their picture taken too!

30 Week Survey

How far along? 30 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 0.5 lbs. 29 lbs. total
How big is baby? Supposed to be around the size of a head of cabbage: about 3 lbs, and 15.7 inches long.
Maternity clothes? Mostly. They are SO much more comfy.
Sleep: It actually hasn't been too bad this week, and I typically only wake up once to use the bathroom, but that is only if I make sure that I get up one last time before I actually fall asleep. Still waking up on my back occasionally.
Best moment this week: Nataleigh's party this past weekend, getting to see everyone, and finally getting my hair done last night!
Movement: All the time. He has really been kicking me in the bladder on and off and man does it ever hurt!!
Food cravings: I have been enjoying chocolate this week more than usual...
Gender: Little man
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? I would say it is pretty flat at this point, but not poking out yet.
Stretchmarks? Just like a tiny one on my boob. None at all my stomach! I am using Organic Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream in the morning and this "Beautiful Belly Balm" at night that I got at our local health food store.
How are you feeling? I have felt pretty tired lately, all throughout the day.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing family tonight. Getting some stuff done this weekend.
What I miss: Not being able to sleep on my back and stomach.
Weekly Wisdom: Stay active.
Milestones: Reaching the 3/4 point in this pregnancy. OH. my. goodness. And the fact that he could really be here in like 6 weeks (hopefully not but you never know) is pretty crazy. I just do not even feel remotely ready yet!!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

I feel like there was a definite growth spurt since last week.

And now for a fun comparison:

10 weeks

20 Weeks

30 Weeks

I am also thankful for everyone's comments to me lately. I have been getting a lot of "awww you look great", and "you are ALL belly". I'm like woo hooo, let's keep it that way!! :)
10 more weeks to go!!!

Work Baby Shower

My blog has seriously been on the back burner lately! I can only imagine it will get way worse once the babe comes. But between work and projects at home....well...I seriously forgot all about this post!

These pictures are from my baby shower at work last week that I also had with my good friend Kerri, who is 6 weeks ahead of me.

Kerri and I getting some food! We had it potluck style, which I love because there is such a variety of food to choose from. It's fun to try a little of everything.

All of the presents...our coworkers are SO generous. Some bought there own presents and everyone else went in on big group gifts for us, which was awesome.

Time to eat! The decorations were really cute too.

I LOVE this little lion outfit. It is actually the 2nd one we have received, but it was a different size so I was excited about that. The other onesie says "This is what handsome looks like." and then the pants have a lion on the butt, they are sooo cute!

Also got Chris's bag from another coworker. It is a Columbia bag, I like it a lot!

The big group gift consisted of some smaller items which included a lot of our "car stuff" like the window shades and this cool mirror thing that goes in the back.

And then this was the BIG item. I was soooo happy to receive our travel system. I started crying a little when I opened it. Like I said...SO generous!

And one last pic of Kerri and I. Me-29 weeks and Kerri-35 weeks. Such a fun shower, we could not ask for a nicer group of people to work with! We are so lucky and blessed.

29 Week Survey

How far along? 29 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 2.5 more lbs. Again. 28.5 lbs. total (WHAT?!>!!!!)
How big is baby? Supposed to be around the size of a butternut squash: 2.5 lbs, and 15 inches long.
Maternity clothes? Mostly. They are SO much more comfy.
Sleep: Ahh it's on and off. Getting harder to move around, and my hips are always killing me when I wake up to roll over. Still waking up on my back which is driving me nuts since it's really starting to hurt!
Best moment this week: Kerri and I had our baby shower at work yesterday, it was really fun! Also getting my massage this past Saturday.
Movement: Love it.
Food cravings: Fresh fruit, all the time. Juice. Water.
Gender: Team Blue!
I have actually felt pretty tired this week. It's getting more uncomfy to sleep and things have been busy at night....also probably just cause it is 3rd tri. now?
What I am looking forward to: Hopefully we will finish painting the trim for the nursery this week and Saturday we are going to niece Nataleigh's 1 year birthday party, so I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. This part year flew by.
What I miss: Not being able to sleep on my back and stomach.
Weekly Wisdom: Stay active.
Milestones: Having the work shower. Seems we have been looking forward to it for a while now and can't believe it is all over with already! Still in amazement that I am in the 3rd trimester already, time is flying by. I'm excited and getting nervous all at once. Here is a little peak from our shower, I hope to make a post about it tomorrow maybe.

Me-29 Weeks, and Kerri-35 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

28 Week Survey

How far along? 28 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Between the last two weeks I have gained 1.5 lbs. 26 lbs. total
How big is baby? Supposed to be 2.25 lbs, and 14.8 inches long.
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. I wear a lot of larger sizes from Target and Old Navy. Today I am not wearing anything maternity, love it!
Sleep: Last night I slept awesome. I bought the boppy wedge a couple weeks ago and love that thing...and then I sleep with a body pillow between my knees and hug my arms around it, works perfectly. Also, if I do not get up to pee at least once in the night, I am really hurting by the time I get up after 6 or so.
Best moment this week: Had an AWESOME 4th of July weekend, and finally making some progress on the nursery. Also, the babe is making some definite, different movements in there now, like flips and stuff.
Movement: All the time it seems!
Food cravings: Fresh fruit, especially grapes, pineapple, strawberries and raspberries.
Gender: Team Blue!
I am feeling great this week. I know I haven't been getting much sleep but I think I am starting to get used to it.
What I am looking forward to: Tomorrow morning I am getting my first pre-natal massage from my Doula (I get 3 included in my package from her.) so I am pretty excited about that! It has been a while since I had a massage. I am also looking forward to finishing working on the trim in the nursery, it is taking forever! I really want to get finished so we can start putting the furniture in there.
What I miss: Not being able to sleep on my back and stomach.
Weekly Wisdom: Stay active.
Milestones: So within the past week he is officially hurting me with some of his movements. Not sure what he is doing in there but ouchy! The bedding came in and I really like it so far so I was happy about that, you just never know when you order something online. I might have to take my rings off soon. If I am outside too long my fingers get all swollen...they seem to be fine when I am inside in the air conditioning though (it has been super hot here lately!) We got the nursery all painted except for the trim, which we are still working on scraping the paint off. Wednesday evening I had to go and get my Rhogam shot. Chris and I both have A- blood types, which I think is cool because it is somewhat rare, but there is like a 1% chance that we could produce a baby with a positive blood type, so just to be on the safe side I had to get it. And they made me take it in the butt. Not a fan of shots in the butt, haha. I have also gotten a couple nose bleeds the past couple days.
And I have officially received my first (or so I thought) "rude" comment.
I was sitting at my desk, on my ball chair, typing and working away, minding my own business and in a great mood, when the Ferris Coffee guy came in to restock our coffee area supplies. He comes in about once a week so I have seen him occasionally over the past couple months. As he is walking by he goes "Well you can definitely tell you are starting to get more uncomfortable." I was like uhhhh...really? Because I feel great? And in my head I'm thinking what the heck is that supposed to mean dude?!!? Do I look like I am sitting here writhing in pain or something? I am sure that I probably had the oddest look on my face, because he didn't say anything else and just sort of walked away. It was just awkward, haha! Oh well.

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

My First Shower

On Saturday, June 26th I had my first shower, with some friends. It was really great. There were about 10 of us altogether, so it was just a cute, quaint little get together. I also got some really great gifts, and I just felt really thankful!

Some of the yummy food!

The cake was soooooooooo good! Marble with raspberry filling and chocolate frosting!

My lovely hostesses and I. Naomi, me, Kerri and Liz

The pregnant ladies in the bunch. Becky-22 wks, me-26.5 wks and Kerri-33 wks

Measuring how big around I was with toilet paper after everyone guessed. (I think it was like 13 sqs in case you were wondering!) We also played the pin game where if someone said the word 'baby' you got to steal all of their pins.

Opening some presents! I thought that it was really cute/funny that most of the clothes we got had something to do with dogs, or puppies or paw prints etc.

I was SO excited about these!! GO STATE!!

Our cute bouncer chair.

Fun day!

4th of July Weekend!

Friday night we drove over to the west side of the state and stayed with Chris's parents for the weekend. I love doing that like once a summer, it just sort of feels like we are on vacation since we are away from home! Friday night we visited Grand Haven and had a little date night. Chris took me to K2, where they serve all of these different pizzas. He has been wanting to take me there for a while now, so that was fun. Then we had Gelato afterward and walked around. (YUM!) I Chris got some Turkish coffee kind that straight up tasted like coffee grounds, and I got a chocolate cherry something or another...it was so good!
Saturday and Sunday we took the dogs to the dog beach. They love it there....you can let them off their leashes, run around, swim, play with the other dogs etc. Niles is pretty daring and will swim out a little ways to fetch balls or frisbees, but Siggy not so much. His little paws were also bothering him so he tended to hang out by us some of the time as well.

There were SO many boxers there on Saturday. I think I counted 13 of them at one point, I couldn't believe it!! I have never seen so many at one time.

I love this picture, I think they look so cute here!

Saturday afternoon after the beach we walked around the art fair, grilled out for dinner with Chris's parents and aunt, and then we went to the Summer Celebration concert. Chris's friends had a couple extra tickets so we were able to get in for free. That night Default, Candlebox and Tonic were playing. I never thought I would ever see those groups, haha!! But it was free, and sure took us back to the 90's....
Sunday morning we went to the beach again, and then in the afternoon went boating with my good friend Kerri and her husband Daryle.

Here is Chris, checking out the "potty room".

Whatcha doin' in there Chris?? :)

Kerri and me on the boat!

Later on that night we got to watch the fireworks. Our boat was anchored about 200 yards from the barge that the fireworks were lit off from. It was awesome!! We were so close and practically right under them. Thankfully the weather was really nice, the rain missed us, and we got to have a great time. We ended up getting home really late that night and I didn't get to bed until like 1:30 am.
Monday Chris had to work, so I cleaned up at home, did all the laundry, snuck in a 3 hour nap (it was so nice!!!!) and went grocery shopping.

Yesterday Chris's mom and aunt came and painted the 2nd coat on the nursery (thank you again!!!) and then last night I spent 3 hours with my friend Erica scraping paint off of the trim (so frustrating!). Turns out someone had painted an oil based paint on it at some point and the old owners had just painted over it, and now it's all peeling off, so we have to completely try to fix it all. It is going to take a little bit longer than we expected.....if only there were more hours in the day!

On the way to Auntie Barb's.

This video makes me laugh so hard...I had to post it!! We were on our way to stay the weekend with Chris's parents and Siggy kept sticking his head out the window so finally I captured him in all his hilarity. Niles was looking pretty cute too. They love car rides!

New Baby

Our friends Adam and Amanda had their 4th child last week on Thursday, via c-sec! He is so cute, just like the rest of their children. They named him Miles James. Love it! Being able to hold him made me very excited, especially to be having a little boy. :)

27 Week Survey

I feel so behind on blogging right now!! We have been so busy. Between finishing the upstairs, trying to get the nursery ready, doing my job plus my coworkers when he was gone, and being gone of the weekends lately, I am so behind. I can't even remember half of what I was thinking or feeling last week for this survey, so it probably will not be as detailed as this weeks!

How far along? 27 Weeks!

How big is baby? Supposed to be 2 lbs, and 14.5 inches long.
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. I wear a lot of larger sizes from Target and Old Navy.

Food cravings: Grapes. I love me some grapes right now.
Gender: Team Blue!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? I would say it is pretty flat at this point.

What I miss: Not being so busy at work!

Trying to be creative....thanks for the idea Mrs. G!

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
