26 Week Survey

How far along? 26 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: +2.5 lbs. this week. 24.5 lbs. total. AH!
How big is baby? Supposed to be 1 2/3 lbs, and 14 inches long.
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. I wear a lot of larger sizes from Target and Old Navy.
Sleep: Pretty good but I wake up a lot, and keep waking up on my back. It is so hard to stay on my side.
Best moment this week: We are officially sleeping upstairs, which means we can start working on the nursery soon, we just need to finish cleaning it out so we can start painting.
Movement: Yes! I love it.
Food cravings: Fruit, juice, squirt, chocolate
Gender: Team Blue!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? I would say it is pretty flat at this point.
Stretchmarks? Just like a tiny one on my boob. Stay away from my stomach! I am using Organic Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream in the morning and this "Beautiful Belly Balm" at night that I got at our local health food store.
How are you feeling? Pretty tired lately, we have been working non-stop on house stuff and I haven't been getting to bed early enough.
What I am looking forward to: I have my first shower tomorrow, with my friends! I am so excited, I can't wait! Also getting the nursery cleaned out this weekend.
What I miss: Sleep and my hips not hurting.
Weekly Wisdom: Go to bed on time because feeling like poo every single day stinks.
Milestones: I just really feel like I am hitting a big growth spurt or something! And I am constantly getting comments from people now, even strangers, asking when I am due, etc.
Also...I guess his testicles are descending into his scrotum?? Lol.... (see below.) Good to know though! :)

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

Another fun comparison!

5 weeks pregnant

15 weeks pregnant

25 weeks pregnant

Wow, what a difference 10 weeks can make! I definitely look more like there is a baby in there now, and a lot "rounder."

This weekend was interesting. I was on my feet for some long periods of time and experienced my first round of swelling. I am pretty sure I was in denial about cankles and the fact that I would ever get them, but they for sure reared their ugly head this weekend!

Also, I have a request. It seems like I have some new readers lately, and also some readers from previous that I am not familiar with. Please leave me a comment, or a link if you blog! I would love to become more acquainted with you and/or your blog. Thanks a bunch!

25 Week Survey!

We have been so busy!! It has been hard to even keep up with these weekly surveys. Thankfully I just got a little break at work!

How far along?
25 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: -1 this week. Never had a loss before? So now that is 22 lbs. total.
How big is baby? Supposed to be 1 1/2 lbs, and 13.5 inches long! Grow baby grow!
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. I wear a lot of larger sizes from Target and Old Navy.
Sleep: Good, especially this week. I am OUT the minute I hit the pillow! But that is from staying up too late and then having to wake up early every day...so tired!
Best moment this week: Our upstairs is almost finished. PTL! We have been waiting for this for a while it seems.
Movement: Yes! Especially in the evening and if I am leaning back I can really feel it. Sometimes I am wondering what in the world he is doing in there! :)
Food cravings: I am a fan of sweets again, which is a bad thing. Always really thirsty and want either juice, or sometimes Squirt.
Gender: Team Blue!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? I would say it is pretty flat at this point.
Stretchmarks? I have noticed a couple tiny ones on one of my boobs...oh well! I am pretty sure they have gotten a tad bigger again. I am using Organic Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream in the morning and this "Beautiful Belly Balm" at night that I got at our local health food store.
How are you feeling? Great, except my back and hips hurt most of the time, especially if I am sitting. I prefer to stand as much as I can. And the tiredness this week is my own fault! Everyone keeps telling me not to over-do it but it is hard. It is a busy time of year!
What I am looking forward to: Getting all of our stuff moved upstairs to and starting to work on the nursery.
What I miss: sleep!
Weekly Wisdom: Don't over-do it.
Milestones: Reaching 25 weeks. It seems surreal...and soon will come 3rd tri!!! AHH!!

So these are the first belly pics in our new upstairs! I want to do a post about it but want to wait until more of the furniture is put together and moved up there. Also, I am wearing all normal clothes here, Yoga pants and tank from Old Navy (LOVE that place!) just in larger sizes. Siggy also felt the need to get in on the picture.

Just me and my boys!

How your baby's growing

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

24 Week Survey

How far along? 24 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: +3 again, 23 lbs. total. Once again, I do not see it except for in my bump!
How big is baby? Supposed to be a little over a pound and a foot long!
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. The cute shirt in my belly pic this week is from Target, I just got an XL. Same for the pink tank, it is from Old Navy...I just get bigger sizes. And it's cheaper.
Sleep: Good but I wake up often, thankfully I can fall right back asleep.
Best moment this week: Spending time with Chris!
Movement: yep... love the little man
Food cravings: Nothing in particular....but always thirsty!
Gender: Team Blue!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? Innie still but getting more shallow.
Stretchmarks? Nothing noticeable yet. Thank goodness! I am using Organic Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream in the morning and this "Beautiful Belly Balm" at night that I got at our local health food store.
How are you feeling? For the most part I feel great. My back and hips hurt me and by the end of the day I'm tired, but I suppose that is normal!
What I am looking forward to: Our upstairs being finished so we can get up there, and start working on the nursery, which is our bedroom right now.
What I miss: Lately I miss running SO much!!
Weekly Wisdom: I got nada
Milestones: Viability, woot woot!

This is just an XL shirt from Target.

And a LG tank from Old Navy. P.S. they are cute and fit awesome...and they are only supposed to be $2 this Saturday.

And this picture is just for fun...my cousin Joanie and I at her open house this past Sunday. This shirt was also from Target and non-maternity, I think a LG. It is so flowly, I love it!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

23 Week Survey

How far along? 23 Weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: +0 again, 20 lbs. total
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. I LOVE flowy dresses and shirts. Love Old Navy and Target! They have awesome stuff right now that isn't even maternity that can be.
Sleep: Pretty good, still waking up now and then to re-adjust and still waking up on my back. I have been trying to sleep only on my right side and the pain in my left hip is finally starting to go away.
Best moment this week: Having a 3 day weekend and sleeping in, being outside in the sun, feeling baby boy move around more and more.
Movement: Yes, I love it. It feels like he is doing flips in there all the time!
Food cravings: Cucumbers and tomatoes with salt on them, cereal, and ice cream.
Gender: Team Blue!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? Innie still but getting more shallow. I kinda pushed the top of my stomach in earlier which made it pop out more. Chris proceeded to get really freaked out and ran out of the bathroom. It was funny...I guess you had to be there.
Stretchmarks? Nothing noticeable yet. Thank goodness! I am using Organic Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream in the morning and this "Beautiful Belly Balm" at night that I got at our local health food store. I feel like I am putting a vaseline/salve on my stomach. I hate how it feels at first because it sticks to my shirt but it is super moisturizing.
What I am looking forward to: Chris having the weekend off with me, getting all of our trim for our upstairs painted, and viability next week!!
What I miss: My butt area and left hip not being sore and sleeping however I want. And raw sushi. The cooked still holds me over though!
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep...
Milestones: We might be starting our Child Birth class next week, depending on Chris's schedule. Things are also official with our Doula, Andrea. I am really happy with her so far. She is super nice and sweet, a MASSAGE THERAPIST (woo hooo!!) and seems like an amazing Christian woman which is a huge plus. She is also in the process of re-certifying again so not only is she only charging me half the price as usual, but I will also receive 3 prenatal and 3 postnatal massages from her! AMAZING!! And that is all for now. :)

Happy B-day to my first baby!

Niles turned 3 yesterday! I can't believe we have had him for almost 3 years, time flies. Which also means we have lived in our house for almost 3 years now. I just cannot believe how fast time has been passing.

His first picture!

Teeny, tiny, 6 week old pup...he was so cute!

Who can resist that scrunched little Boxer nose? If only they stayed little but their habits/personalities continues to mature...haha..

Yes that is me with bright blonde hair.

He knows something is up....he is a smartie pants.

And here he is again, all grown up, chilling with his brother Siggy. So handsome and majestic looking. Love these dogs! They are so sweet.
