Once
again, Nora seems so much bigger this month than last month. She is growing so fast...but I totally forgot to weigh her, so I am anxious to see how much she weighs for month 11! I know she weighs around 17 lbs. from her peds appointment. She is still wearing 9
month clothing, except for sleepers which she has to wear 12 months or
they are too short. She is still wearing size 2 shoes, and mostly wears her pink boots or slippers if we go out, except this past month she wore cute little black dress shoes a lot when we went out and she was dressed up! She is also still
wearing size 3 Kirkland brand diapers.
We had her 9 month peds appointment on Dec. 11, which was way late...and she weighed 17 lbs. 7 oz. (25%), height was 28 3/4 inches (85%) and head was 17.5 inches (50- 75%). They said she had a really good growth spurt from her 6 month appointment, which I knew for sure because she was just eating so much more food! We tend to have some long, lean babies. :)
She fusses a lot when getting dressed or her diaper changed, so I try to sing to her and she usually likes that!
About half way through the month, Nora decided that she was no longer going to eat baby food. You can tell she hates the taste of it (I do not blame her). And once she even started throwing a fit..I told Chris, "I think she wants what I'm eating!" Sure enough...once I gave it to her, she was so happy! So that has definitely been a challenge because she doesn't want pureed but she still gags a lot on regular food. We just make sure we cut it up into really tiny pieces for her. For breakfast she usually eats oatmeal with a banana smashed in it, so that really hasn't changed, and eggs with cheese and ham or turkey. For lunch she has whatever we have which can sometimes be challenging so I will have to switch some things out, but so far she loves grilled cheese with turkey and tomato soup, broccoli soup with bread, string cheese, pears, yogurt, mac and cheese. She loves carbs, haha! She has already decided she doesn't like peas and carrots and tries to throw them on the floor. She did great at the Christmas dinners and ate anything we put on her plate. She loved the ham, turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, etc. She has been a great eater! She also still loves her puffs, yogurt bites and Mum Mums.
I also have been getting her to take little sips of water out of her sippy cup, which right now is the plastic Born Free ones, and she is doing pretty good.
She is also still nursing several times a day and usually once at night.
Nora has been sleeping well and usually waking once a night, but also slept through the night a few times too! She usually takes at least one nap a day and getting better at taking two naps.
Her two bottom teeth FINALLY popped through in the past month! Yay!
Nora
is really moving all around. She is getting up on her stomach more and rolls around a bit. She loves being on the floor to play with her toys and gets where she wants to be, but no crawling yet! She gets forward are her hands and sort of on her knees, but not all the way forward. She has also sort of tried to pull herself up but just gets to her knees.
She is saying five words now! Sometimes it amazes us. She says Dada, Mama, Hi, Yeah, and the latest is UH OH! It is so cute! It especially surprises us when she is always using it in the correct context. She LOVES to drop things and say UH OH! It is so funny.
Nora is still clapping like a pro. :)
Nora hasn't really been growling much anymore, but is doing a lot more talking, including the words above and other babbling.
She did GREAT during our Chicago trip. She really went with the flow of things. I was a little nervous but she did so well. While we were outside we really bundled her up because it was cold, but she slept most of the time. She loved the stroller rides and lots of people commented on her and how cute she was etc! It was sort of a rough night at the hotel but that is to be expected.
Nora also did really great at all of our Christmas gatherings, for the most part. In the evenings she would definitely start getting pretty fussy because she was so tired. She was held by a lot of people. She did so well at Christmas too, and really loved the lights, and all of the paper on the presents. She got some really cute gifts, including some great clothes. It was such a fun Christmas!
That is about all for this month!
